Roy Hudd’s Archive

Our President, Roy Hudd OBE, is donating his extensive archive to Suffolk New College. At a launch at Shelley’s Restaurant in the college building at Ipswich on Monday 23rd January invited guests learned about this exciting new project which will catalogue and organise Roy’s unique music hall and variety archive. Roy’s collection includes over 30,000 song sheets, programmes, posters and associated audio and video materials. The archive will be used to create an initial programme of community, educational and performance activities and exhibitions alongside an effective curation plan and options for its future sustainability. The project is led by Oakmere Solutions on behalf of Suffolk New College and is generously supported by the Heritage Lottery Fund. Roy’s archive will not transfer to the college until, as he put it, “I snuff it!”
