Finsbury Park Empire – Vote For Plaque

The site of the Finsbury Park Empire music hall (1910-60) has been nominated in a shortlist to receive an Islington People’s (Heritage) Plaque – an annual scheme organised by Islington Heritage Service (London Borough of Islington). The Empire site is now covered by a block of flats, Vaudeville Court, and this is where a plaque would be erected and unveiled, if successful.

Voting has just opened to all and BMHS members can cast their vote online via http://bit.ly/1jtnvc0
or http://www.islington.gov.uk/islington/history-heritage/heritage_borough/bor_plaques/Pages/default.aspx

Voting closes on Thursday 31 July 2014.

The site of the borough’s other famous music hall, Collins’ on Islington Green, was honoured with a commemorative plaque several years ago.
