Gus Elen Show

A voice from the past

Gus Elen, “The Famous Coster Comedian” recorded thirty-two songs during his successful music hall career, which was at it’s peak in the 1890s. But what about the songs that he didn’t record?

Gus Elen’s biographer, Peter Norris, has produced a show of Gus’s numbers which includes thirteen songs that he never recorded, and which consequently have probably not been heard for well over 100 years.

Details of the 3rd April 2016 show can be found on the “News/Contact” page at Although Peter would like to follow the show with others, production costs may mean that this turns out to be the only one. If you plan to see the show, it would help a great deal if you could indicate this on the website’s Contact Form, or give Peter a call on 01754 890499.
