A play about the final years of tempestuous singer Dorothy Squires will be broadcast on Radio 4 on Friday 24th March at 2.15. Give Dotty A Chance by Martyn Hesford will feature Ruth Madoc as Squires and the supporting cast includes Arthur Bostrom and Graeme Hawley.

The next BMHS Monthly Meeting takes place on Thursday 16th March at 7.45pm at the Club For Acts and Actors, 20, Bedford Street, Covent Garden, London WC2E 9HP.
Dean Caston will talk to Joane Hall about her long career in show business. Joane started out as a dancer with the Zio Angels. She trained as a ballet dancer but loved to tap dance as well as performing comedy routines. She entertained the troops overseas during the war with ENSA and worked at the London Palladium as a dresser.
She has appeared on television in The Bill, Father Ted and Bramwell. In 1988 she was elected Queen Ratling and is still involved with the Lady Ratlings.
There is no charge for admission to the Monthly Meetings but voluntary donations towards the expenses of the meetings are greatly appreciated. All welcome.
Bernard Cribbins, Ian Wallace, Barry Cryer, Marti Webb, Penelope Beaven, Rocky Rendall, Dinardi and Members of the Players Theatre Company will all be appearing in The Good Old Days on BBC4 on Friday 17th March. Originally broadcast on 28th February 1978, the show is chaired, as usual, by Leonard Sachs.
Ron Moody heads the cast of The Good Old Days on BBC4 on Friday 10th March at 8pm. Originally broadcast on 21st February 1978, the show also features Hinge and Bracket, Alan Randall, Duggie Brown, Rita Morris, Peter Gale, Les Missiles, and members of the Players’ Theatre Company. Leonard Sachs is in the Chair.
