Elsie and Doris Waters documentary on Radio 2


BBC Radio 2 celebrates the careers of Elsie and Doris Waters in the series Double Acts on Wednesday 1st August at 9pm. The programme is introduced by Christopher Biggins.

The Canterville Ghost at Edinburgh Fringe


Tall Stories celebrates its 21st birthday at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe with a world premiere of a music hall style adaptation of Oscar Wilde’s The Canterville Ghost. This production features a compere, a comic, an illusionist and a psychic.

This production will run in rep with Wilde Creatures  from 1st – 26th August at the Pleasance Courtyard.

Top Of The Bill

The ever-enterprising TV channel, Talking Pictures, will be screening a ‘lost’ 1971 documentary on Monday 16th July at 20.00 for an hour. The documentary is called Top Of The Bill  about the great days of variety and features Ben Warriss, Sally Barnes, Davy Kaye, Peter Cavanagh, Ken Goodwin, Ernest Arnley, Wee Georgie Wood, Virginia Vernon, Cyril Dowler and Bob & Alf Pearson.
