Using songs of the era Marie Lloyd Stole My Life takes the audience back to the mid-19th century to view the social history of the period through the eyes of one woman who just happened to be a star of popular entertainment, Nelly Power. Expect tales of female emancipation, divorce laws, and the great inequalities and double standards of life in Victorian England, all viewed through the subversive lens of Music Hall. Marie Lloyd Stole My Life is performed by Lottie Walker, with piano and musical direction by James Hall. The play written by JJ Leppink with original direction by Edz Barrett.
