The British Music Hall Society has had to cancel the June In The Limelight presentation scheduled for Thursday 9th June as the guest speaker Robert Ross is unwell. The next In The Limelight will be on Thursday 7th July when Dean Caston will be in conversation with performer Scott St. Martyn.

Robert is a leading authority on the history of British comedy and has written 16 books. Plaque To Be Unveiled in Brighton on May 26th For The Conjoined Hilton Twins

The Mayor of Brighton will unveil a plaque to the conjoined Hilton Twins at their birthplace – 18 Riley Road in Brighton, BN2 4AH on Thursday 26th May 2022.
People should gather from 11.30am onwards and the Mayor will unveil the plaque at midday.

In The Limelight on May 19th features the life of Renee Houston.

The next In The Limelight talk on Thursday 19th May 2022 at the Water Rats, 328, Grays Inn Road, Kings Cross, London, WC1X 8BZ at 730pm will feature Miranda Brooke talking about the life of Renée Houston, a performer who, with her sister, Billie, become a leading variety act in the 1920s. She later appeared on TV, radio and film. Miranda Brooke is the author of the only biography about Renée called Renee Houston: Spirit Of The Irresistibles. Tickets (BMHS Members £8; Non-Members £10) can be booked via Ticketsource:
